Bottles Wine Garden
Address: 2500 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20037
Oddly tucked away inside a West End hotel along the bustling Pennsylvania Avenue NW corridor, Bottles Wine Garden rolls around town tonight with a tight but thoughtful opening slate of six by-the-glass options and a devotion to vineyards owned by women.
The 120-seat city oasis, nestled between Georgetown and Foggy Bottom, is accessible via Placemakr’s mod lobby lined with framed photos of Sophia Loren and George Clooney (2500 Pennsylvania Avenue NW). Open a set of mysteriously mirrored doors to discover Bottles Wine Garden, a modern wine bar that leads to an enchanting private patio.
The latest hidden gem in the dense North West district comes from Erika Parjus and fellow Centrolina Angie Duran, who cater to serious oenophiles and novices with a global roster full of female producers and low-intervention grapes. Customers can order at their preferred seats or at the bar, with a compact selection of six options by the glass ($12 to $15) and 39 bottles ($27 to $135) to start. Hours of operation are 5 p.m. to midnight Wednesday through Sunday
