“Climbing those stairs is enough workout for the entire year! :)”
“Nice place, the dripping water creates a beautiful relaxed ambience.”
“The food was excellent, service awesome!!”
It’s a short walk to the rim of the sinkhole, 117 feet deep and 500 feet across. You can take the easy way – a 1/2-mile wall around the rim, climb down and up the 232 steps to the bottom of the sinkhole. Or both. The stairs are a fun challenge, and the view from the bottom is spectacular. This is the only geological site in Florida’s Park System, and well worth the trip. It’s perfect for a short day-hike, and picnic tables provide a place to enjoy lunch before you face those stairs. Recommend this for families and anyone who is going to be content with walking around the rim (if physical conditions prevent the stairs), or healthy enough to take the stairs. Quite a feeling of accomplishment to know you’ve conquered the challenge.
