Had to celebrate with some good food, and Green Papaya Thai Cuisine hit the spot.
It’s only 8 minutes from the airport and sits in a shopping plaza with Walmart, Dollar Tree, Five Below, and Best Buy—though Best Buy stock just tanked after the latest tariff news. Ouch.
I had the Amazing Curry with tofu for the lunch special—absolutely lived up to the name. Rich, creamy, and just the right amount of spice. They actually ask how hot you want it, so you’re in control. The spring rolls came out quick—not made to order, but still decent. The peanut sauce wasn’t my thing—too thick—but that’s just me.
The restaurant itself is clean and calm. My server was super chill, gave me time to look over the menu, and the whole vibe was relaxed and friendly.
While I was eating, I caught up on the market—turns out some U.S. companies with big operations in Thailand are getting hit. Ford has major manufacturing there, and companies like Western Digital and Seagate rely on Thai facilities for key electronics components. The new tariffs are making waves, and it’s showing in the stock prices.
But honestly, none of that mattered once the curry hit the table. If you’re anywhere near the airport, this spot’s a gem—fast, flavorful, and the perfect win after a big Gators W
