Fantastic cocktails, really good sushi, great steak and outstanding service! I was concerned when we walked into a nearly empty restaurant for our Friday 7pm reservation for our family of6, but our experience was perfect in every way. Le DeSales has just re-opened after a long pandemic closure and we were lucky enough to be there during the soft open. The menu was not quite as extensive as what we viewed online but there was also a completely unexpected addition of beautifully prepared sushi. We ordered a round of cocktails and sushi to start and were wowed by both. The “Momo” was rated the best at our table, but every cocktail was a hit.
Entrees were also well prepared. With the exception of the chicken mole, every dish we ordered exceeded expectations. The chicken mole was tasty, but really should not be labeled a mole– it was more a good roasted chicken with gravy.
Service was perfect– thoughtful without hovering or being pushy.
There is no doubt we will return to Le DeSales on our next visit to DC!
