Engaging atmosphere. Celebrating my granddaughter’s graduation from University we were primed for a fine experience and Lena’s did not disappoint.
Though it’s a loud dining room, our party of 8 was off in the rear of the dining room and that helped give it a modicum of privacy. I sat on a couch, needed pillows to prop from behind and wound up quite comfortable.
Appetizers: Spinach artichoke dip, giant meatball, fried Brussels sprouts. Bar: excellent cocktails, good wine selection. Enjoyed a decent Montepulciano.
A perfectly prepared, delivered medium (as requested) Salmon was paired with a concatenation of fregola pasta (think slightly larger acini di pepe) with charred corn, peas, peppers and a parmesan butter cream sauce. Distinctive, very tasty and an excellent complement to the fresh fish. Others in the party remarked as well that they thoroughly enjoyed the evening from beginning to end and the food and service were by any standard, superior.
Service was attentive, personable and wholly professional.
For our party of 8, with cocktails, wine, dessert and gratuity the total was $475. Value is the relationship between the entire experience and the price paid for same. While one mighty not call the evening a “bargain” in the classic sense, without question the value was reasonable and I believe the management of the restaurant is attuned to the desires of its clientele and strives (and succeeds) in creating a lovely evening of fine dining.
A word of caution; the dining room is quite noisy and therefore not likely a place to dine in intimate conversation. That established, and based upon this singular experience, Lena’s has earned its 5 star rating.
