Best Turkish restaurant in the Baltimore area! This restaurant in on the higher end in terms of price, but totally worth it for the quality and service. We came here around 12 noon on a Sunday and there was no wait. Our party got a variety of dishes- falafel, sigara boregi, lentil soup, Turkish doner kebab, lamb chops, izgara kofte, baklava, kazan dibi, and chocolate pudding. Each dish was absolutely delicious.
Falafel is fried with a hard and crispy outer shell. It comes with pita bread and plenty of hummus. Sigara boregi had a very light flavor consisting of hot, flaky, and delicate fried dough wrapped around feta cheese. Most of the other dishes also had light flavor/seasoning, including the lentil soup, all the entrees, and the salad that comes with the entrees. There is salt and pepper on the table if the flavor is too light for you, but I did not need it. Doner kebab was the only entree that came with a yogurt sauce, and I had difficulty telling the difference between the slices of lamb and beef. In retrospect, I wish I got the $25 brunch special. It’s a really good deal, as the entrees in the brunch special are the same price and size as the non-specials, plus an appetizer and baklava!
Kazan dibi tastes like a creme brulee without the burnt sugar on top, and the chocolate pudding was surprisingly rich and delicious. There was 1 waiter serving all the tables and he was extremely fast and attentive. Fruit juices are also good- I recommend the apricot juice.
