“I ordered catfish nuggets, potato salad, corn bread, and half & half.”
“Good wings, fried fish and half and half’s (iced tea/lemonade)”
Went here by chance. Just passing by. What a surprise!! The food was excellent with ample portions at a reasonable price. The order taker was polite and courteous, it was nice to receive good service for a change! Ordered the fried catfish, collard greens, macaroni & cheese, cornbread and banana cake for dessert. This might be the best soul food I’ve ever had. Only matched by this soul food I had in Atlanta. I’m visiting from Houston, TX and this is better than any soul food I’ve had in Houston. The catfish was crispy, flaky, delicious and not greasy. The collard greens were as good as my moms. The Mac & cheese was cheesy (not too gooey) and very tasty. The cornbread was some of the best I’ve tasted, it was almost like cake. The banana cake was to die for. It didn’t taste like bananas. However, it was moist with a delicious white icing on the top and bottom of the cake. I tried to save some of this meal for the next day but I couldn’t stop eating it until it was all gone! The food at the Soul Boat was wonderful, highly recommended!
I really liked this place. My wife got the baked chicken over rice smothered in gravy with a side of Mac and cheese and string beans. It tasted amazing! I got the 6 piece fried whiting which was also amazing! I look forward to trying their pork chops and the turkey wings w/gravy as well.
Food is always delicious. My favorite is the fried flounder fish, it’s definitely a 5 out of 5 star entree. My husband tried the honey mustard wings, he gave it a 3 out of 5 stars, just okay. Will definitely revisit Soul Boat.
