We are part of your community. Not only can you meet a friend for an author talk, have coffee at the store, and know our booksellers by name, but we pay taxes to the District of Columbia to support city services. We contribute our time and our money with donations of books and resources to many educational and cultural institutions in the metropolitan area. I’ve loved going to Politics and Prose since I moved to DC 10 years ago. I’ve been gone for a bit and was quite ecstatic to find they have a location right in my old neighborhood. I’m not going to lie, it made me want to move back. I went there twice this week alone. My recent visit a couple hours right before my flight. It was worth the risk. I digress, the store itself is small but packed with the newest books on the shelf. Walking in, I was tempted to just touch all the books. There’s fun quirky collectibles and Knick knacks you’d be tempted to add on to your book purchase and the staff are very helpful too. I went on a Saturday morning and it wasn’t packed, there’s limited parking but not hard to find. I love books and I’m glad Politics and Prose is growing to have more locations. Definitely worth the visit.
