I have loved volunteering with Maximo Nivel! The staff are very welcoming and supportive. I had a great time working at a special needs facility and was provided with an amazing home stay. The activities provided are a great way to meet others and I instantly felt comfortable and relaxed in Antigua! I would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of volunteering in Guatemala.

I completed two amazing weeks with Maximo Nivel. While in Guatemala, I stayed with a host family in Jocotenango. Transportation to school was available by foot, motorcycle, tuktuk, and chicken bus. The location is great; accessible to pharmacies, stores, shops, restaurants, and historical buildings. My teacher was Francisco and I am grateful for how he was able to modify the lessons based on my work experience allowing me to improve my language skills. In addition, I participated in controversial topics that till this day exist. I gained insight on different perspectives from my classmates as we went through these topics. Teacher Francisco ensured we were in a safe place to voice our opinions during class. I would recommend Maximo Nivel! They are structured and offer additional classes (visual calendar) and programs throughout the day. đź“š
